Getting Involved in Groundwater (2017) – A Guide to California’s Groundwater Sustainability Plans (UCS)
The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act requires Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) to consider the interests of many beneficial users and uses of groundwater, including overlying groundwater rights holders (both agricultural users and domestic well owners), municipal well owners, public water systems, local land use planning agencies, environmental users of groundwater, surface water users, the federal government, Native American tribes, and disadvantaged communities (DACs).
Precisely how these interests are engaged and considered is left to local GSAs, so become involved and be a voice in your community.

Organizations to Help You Become Involved
Community Water Center A 501c3 non-profit organization that works with local community members in the Central Valley to ensure impacted communities have a voice in the water decisions and policies that affect them.
Self-Help Enterprises A nationally recognized community development organization whose mission is to work together with low-income families to build and sustain healthy homes and communities.
