Located in California’s North Coast hydrologic region, the Santa Rosa Valley – Santa Rosa Plain is 80,124 acres in size. This Medium priority basin is home to an estimated 250,016 people (2010 value). It has approximately 6943 wells, of which approximately 158 are water supply wells. Groundwater accounts for approximately 50.03 percent of the basin’s water supply.

2019: basin boundary modification approved changing a portion of the e boundary between the Santa Rosa Plain subbasin and the Wilson Grove Formation Highlands basin consolidating the City of Sebastopol, Belmont Terrace Mutual Water Company (MWC), Fircrest MWC, and Kelly MWC within the Santa Rosa Plain subbasin.
