Sharing ideas and resources for successful implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
Sonoma County Groundwater Recharge Workshop
This workshop focused on how groundwater can be ‘recharged’ to help better manage and sustain local aquifers. Presentations include:
Recharge: What is it? What is it not? Different types of recharge, snd recharge in the context of SGMA; California’s Flood-MAR (Managed Aquifer Recharge) project: What is it? Where is it happening? How does it work?; and Local recharge efforts: What farmers are doing in Sonoma County to enhance recharge.
The Kings Subbasin Groundwater Tour, held by Self-Help Enterprises and the Kings River Conservation District, provided an opportunity to learn how water - both surface and groundwater - is used and managed by various users of the Kings Subbasin, and how we can address our groundwater challenges and reach sustainability by working together in light of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
This webinar discusses the potential role for Managed Aquifer Recharge as a cost-effective solution for SGMA targets, and key take-aways from the economics literature. From UCANR.
